Out of the fire!
May. 8th, 2022 03:36 amI have a job. After three months of struggle.
I haven't felt relief like this in nearly a year. ðŸ˜
As though my bad luck had overextended itself and gave way to a whiplash of good luck, the new job couldn't be better. I'm going to be working as a receptionist at an absolutely lovely animal hospital! I've already met most of the staff and they're wonderful, we've all made friends over a single afternoon. The pay is decent, but it comes with health and dental plans. Not to mention greeting dogs and cats all day! And for the cherry on top, the hospital is on the other end of the same backroad that my house is on, less than two miles away. Easiest, fastest commute in history.
At the end of the interview and a day of shadowing, I told the boss "I love everyone here, I can totally see myself doing this," and she laughed "I was already saying that about you, and you're also the first applicant not to stand us up. You're in."
Stellar. No other word for it, this is stellar.
Some corporate paperwork has to get sorted, so it's not 100% final, but I don't exactly have a criminal record so I wouldn't say I have cause to worry. And frankly, my cortisol levels could use the day off anyway.
For once, let's assume the best.
Okay. Big sigh. Haaahhhhhh.
